Associations, foundations and social enterprises play a major role in the social fabric and have needs not unlike those of commercial enterprises in terms of compliance with rules and protection of rights. Not only that, but in order to fully carry out their mission they need to be mindful of the opportunities as well as compliant with those constraints envisaged precisely because of their special status. The absence of profit does not diminish the importance of effective management and special attention to compliance.
